Q Why won't my video play even though the file size is large?
When a camera stops recording abruptly (due to a dead battery, crash, or memory card ejection), it writes the video frames into the media data area but fails to write the container index (MOOV atom) at the end. Without this index, standard video players cannot find the video frames or know the video length. Prism Video Repair scans the raw video frames and rebuilds the missing index so the video plays normally.
Q What is Advanced Sample Repair with a reference video?
If a video is severely damaged and its internal configuration parameters are unreadable, Advanced Sample Repair uses a healthy 'donor' video recorded on the same camera with identical resolution and frame rate. The engine extracts the camera's technical profile from the healthy file and applies it to rebuild the damaged file's index.
Q Does repairing the video reduce its visual quality?
No. Prism uses direct stream copying by default. It rebuilds the container index without re-compressing the video or audio streams, preserving the original camera resolution, bitrate, color grading, and audio fidelity.

Q How does the Free Evaluation Trial work?
The free trial allows you to import your video files, perform a full container diagnostic scan, inspect detected video parameters, and watch a playable preview of the first 1 minute of the repaired video. Exporting the complete unwatermarked video file requires an active license.
Q Is my video uploaded to the internet during repair?
No. All video scanning, index rebuilding, and stream processing run locally on your computer. No video content is uploaded to external servers.
Q Can it fix videos with out-of-sync audio?
Yes. The Preview Step includes a real-time Audio Synchronization calibration slider (-2000ms to +2000ms) that allows you to correct audio delay before exporting the finalized video.
